Biography

Hereditary singer. In the Russian Folk Choir, under the direction of ME Pyatnitsky, her grandmother, father, mother, sisters sang. In 1926 she was admitted to the choir. Pyatnitsky was her first teacher. She participated in the first performance of songs in the folk style of V. G. Zakharov - “Oh, my fogs are fogged up”, “Raven on horseback”, “And who knows him” (in a duet with A.V. Prokoshina ) and many others.

“The famous duet was: Prokoshina - Klodnina” (singer Anna Litvinenko).

It was considered the first singing of the choir. Her voice is low in tone, "bubbling."

“When the song was finished, we learned it and came to the club of railway workers of Sverdlovsk. Let's sing. They took her perfectly. They made me sing a few times. But the next concert that took place in the hospital is especially memorable to me.

I’m going out to sing after the “Mists” announced. Sang. And silence. No applause. I went to my place. I became a choir. And then a fighter gets up from the ranks, goes on stage, kissed me and says: “Thank you for such a wonderful song! Could it be repeated? "

Then only the hall woke up. Applauded. “Bravo” scream, and those whose hands are bandaged, crutches tap on the floor. What was going on! They repeated this song several times ... ”(V. E. Klodnina on the performance of the song“ Oh, my fogs, fogged over ”).

Member of the CPSU (b) since 1944. Mentor of colleagues in the choir.

“Three sisters of Klodnina sang in Pyatnitsky’s choir. Of course, I was lucky: I not only heard their singing, but also learned a lot from them.

Three sisters. Three singers - original, not similar to each other. Three completely different characters.

Valentina Efremovna - petite, feminine. You can’t tell about anyone else how you “stepped”, you just stepped on the stage with some amazing dignity; she bowed in her own, Claudine’s manner.

She had a low, chest contralto. I, then a girl, always wanted to look into her throat - I was convinced that it was arranged unusually, not like everyone else. Valentina Efremovna bribed me with her wisdom and great worldly experience. It was she who gave me an unusually simple advice:

- Sing as you say.

Sofya Efremovna was a large, burly woman. Voice - to match her whole appearance - low, sharp, a bit hoarse.

But the third, Elizaveta Efremovna, possessed a high voice of a soft timbre, completely different from all Klodnins — she sang lyrical songs. And she had many echoes that adorned the sound of additional notes about which Vladimir Zakharov constantly spoke to us.

With all three of them, and first of all with Valentina Efremovna, I studied a serious, holy attitude to art.

My older friends in the choir ... Real craftsmen from the people ”(singer Lyudmila Zykina ).

In 1955 she graduated from the correspondence musical courses named after N.K. Krupskaya in Moscow. She joined the choir until 1963. In 1963-1969 he was a teacher at the Russian Academy of National Economy named after ME Pyatnitsky , and from 1969 - at the Ippolitov-Ivanov MM College of Music (department of folk singing). She taught singers Lyudmila Zykina, Lyudmila Ryumin , Anna Litvinenko, Tatyana Sinitsyna.

Died in obscurity.
