Biography
Frantisek Jan Zaluski was born in 1660. He came from a senatorial, but not very wealthy, Zaluski family. His father was Alexander Zaluski, the governor of Rava and the Marshal of the Crown Tribunal [1] , and his mother Katarzyna Olszowska, was the daughter of the Spasz Mazursky cousins and the sister of the Prime Minister of Poland Andrzej Olszowski [2] . In 1695 he became governor of Chernigov. As a senator, he participated in the Sejm of 1696 and 1699 . In 1704, he was a member of the Sandomierz Confederation . Around 1710, he purchased from his brother, Crown Chancellor Andrzej Chrysostom, the palace in Faleni [1] , which he rebuilt after being destroyed during the war with Sweden . In 1719 he became governor of Polotsk. In 1726 he was awarded the Order of the White Eagle . In the election of the king in 1733, he supported Stanislav Leshchinsky [3] . He died on November 17, 1735 [2] .
Family
Frantisek Jan Zaluski was married twice. His first wife was Dortey de la Riviere from Flanders [4] . The second wife was Theofila Wapowski. Franciszek Jan Zaluski and his wife Theophilus were godfathers of Ignatius Krasicki [2] .
