Victor Pavlovich Morozkin ( 1937 - 199 7) - specialist in the field of thermal power plants, doctor of technical sciences, professor, head of the department of relay protection and automation of energy systems MPEI (1979-1996). Academician of the International Energy Academy and the Academy of Electrotechnical Sciences of the Russian Federation. Honorary Electric Power Industry of Russia.

Biography

Victor Pavlovich Morozkin was born in 1937 in the Kemerovo region. In 1960, he successfully graduated from Tomsk Polytechnic Institute (now Tomsk Polytechnic University). At the end of the institute, he worked in distribution successively as an engineer, senior engineer of a plant, senior engineer of the Moscow Department of Radiation Engineering of the Ministry of Secondary Engineering. He continued his education at the graduate school of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute.

In 1970 he graduated from graduate school at MPEI, after which he was left at the institute for teaching work at the Department of Electrical Machines.

Viktor Pavlovich worked at the MPEI as an assistant, senior teacher, assistant professor. For several years, he headed the trade union organization of MPEI, worked as vice-rector of the institute for scientific work, and was a deputy of the Kalinin District Council of Moscow.

From 1979 to 1996, V.P. Morozkin worked as the head of the department of relay protection and automation of power systems.

Research interests: automation devices for energy systems on a domestic microprocessor basis; automation of energy systems, the theory of reliable work of personnel in the electric power industry; the creation of an environmentally friendly thermal power plant, simulators for staff training; wind power plants with power up to 1000 kW.

V.P. Morozkin is the author of 183 scientific works, including seven books, he taught in the specialty “Automatic Control of Electric Power Systems”, and the textbook “Automation of Power Systems” was published under his editorship.

At different times, Viktor Pavlovich Morozkin was a member of the editorial board of the journal "Electricity", a member of the International Energy Academy and the Academy of Electrotechnical Sciences of the Russian Federation, coordinator of work at RAO "UES of Russia", etc.

Victor Pavlovich Morozkin died in 1997 at the age of 60.
