Biography
The son of Major General Alexander Wilhelmovich Tavastshern (1863-1930).
He graduated from the 1st Cadet Corps (1911) and the Pavlovsk Military School (1913), from where he was released as lieutenant to the 88th Petrovsky Infantry Regiment . On July 27, 1914, the 2nd Rifle Regiment was transferred to the Life Guards , in the ranks of which it entered the First World War . Manufactured on assignments July 17, 1916. He was promoted to headquarters captain on December 28, 1916, to captains on May 12, 1917. Desiring to continue the war with Germany, he went to France and joined the Foreign Legion .
In the Civil War he participated in the White Movement as part of the Armed Forces of the South of Russia . In 1919 he arrived in the Volunteer Army with the Legion of Honor , was renamed Colonel . In May 1920 - in Yugoslavia.
In the emigration of Estonia, then in France, in 1939 - in Tarbes , then in Paris. He was a member of the regimental association of Tsarskoye Selo shooters, left the memories "Service in the French and Volunteer Armies" for the collection "Memorable Days", compiled by the former commander of the regiment, Major General Vertsinsky .
