Slicer is a special device for cutting slices of various foods, usually cheese, sausage, bread. Some types of slicers are designed for cutting vegetables: potatoes, carrots, cabbage.
The household uses a tabletop manual slicer, which is fixed to the table with a clamp , like a meat grinder . The stainless steel disc knife is driven by the handle. The thickness of the slices up to 2.5 cm is adjustable with the help of the sliding lever. The hand is protected from being wounded by a knife to protect the slide with a moving clamp, in which the product being cut is placed. The left hand slides are served on a rotating knife, and the right hand rotates the handle. The finished slice is pushed as follows. Thanks to the slicer, the slices are neatly flat with a significantly smaller amount of chips. Upon completion of work with a slicer, it is recommended to thoroughly clean the adhered pieces [1] . Industrial slicers are electric and are installed, for example, in supermarkets .
The knife slicer was invented by Willy Abel , also known as the inventor of the egg slicer .
