“Nice for What” is a song recorded by Canadian singer-songwriter Drake from his fifth studio album, Scorpion , released on April 6, 2018 . The song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US charts, displacing Drake’s single “ God's Plan ” and becoming the singer’s fifth charttopper in the US [1] . She also immediately topped the UK Singles Chart , becoming his second ChartTopper there in 2018 after God's Plan. [2]

History
The song "Nice for What" has received positive reviews from music critics and online publications, many of them highly appreciate its contribution to women's empowerment [3] [4] . Hugh McIntyre from Forbes Magazine considers the “well-built” song “another great creation from the most significant hip-hop artist”, writing that “vocal samples help the track stand out from most of the rest of his discography” [5] . Kevin Lozano of Pitchfork ’s online edition awarded the song the title “Best New Track”, praising Drake for “smoothly processing flawless production from producer Murda Beatz” and calling the song “fantastic hip-hop and one of the most Drake’s perfect releases lately ” [6] . Chris Deville of " Stereogum calls the song" New Orleans' big, cheeky, loud, innovative product, "describing it as an" extraordinary bid for continued commercial dominance " [7] .
Commercial Success
In the USA, Drake made his debut in the first place of the Hot 100 charts and became the first performer in history to make his debut twice on the top of the American chart twice (after the previous “ God's Plan ”). “Nice for What” became the 30th single in the history of Billboard magazine, which managed to immediately get to the top of the chart. He also became the fifth charttopper for Drake, including three, where he was the lead performer. [1] The song also became the first in history to debut on the Mainstream R & B / Hip-Hop chart in the top ten top 10 [8] .
The song “Nice for What” set an absolute record in the history of Billboard magazine’s American charts, as it climbed 4 times to the first place on the chart, which not a single single had ever been able to do in history. First, she made her debut at No. 1 (April 21, 2018, where she was the leader for four weeks), then re-climbed the top for another two weeks (June 2), the third time jumped to first place (June 23, but only for one week) and the fourth once on No. 1 hit July 14 (one week). In total, the track “Nice for What” stayed at the top for 8 weeks. The last time in 2015, The Weeknd's “ Can't Feel My Face ” hit [9] three times in first place.
Music video
The video was directed by Karena Evans. It focuses on women performing various activities, including swimming, dancing, the role of models and horse riders [5] . It includes the performances of the following guests (actresses and models), in order of appearance [10] : Olivia Wilde , Misty Copeland , Issa Rae , Rashida Jones , Jourdan Dunn , Tracee Ellis Ross , Tiffany Haddish , Yara Shahidi , Zoe Saldana , Elizabeth and Victoria Lejonhjärta , Letitia Wright , Bria Vinaite , Emma Roberts , Syd , Michelle Rodriguez and Drake himself [11] [12] [13] [14] . Evans admitted on her Instagram that she considered it an honor to work on this video [15] .
