Landscape Geophysics

Landscape geophysics is a division of physical geography that studies the role of physical fields and energy sources in the formation of the regional and local structure of the geosphere [1] . The object of study of science are the processes and physical properties of natural-territorial complexes and the physical side of the interaction of landscape components. Also, science affects the biological foundations of the landscape: the formation of the physiographic conditions of photosynthesis , the transformation of energy in biocenoses and detrital energy flows, self-organization and self-regulation of geosystems . The main physical fields studied by landscape geophysics are radiation and thermal. Closely related to biogeophysics .

The development of geophysics in geography occurred by such scientists as A.I. Voeikov , A.A. Grigoriev , D.L. Armand , M.I. Budyko , K.Ya. Kondratyev , N.A. Shumskoy, N.L. Beruchashvili, G.F. Khilmi, V.M. Kotlyakov [2] . In the early 60s of the twentieth century, stationary studies were performed at the Institute of Geography of the USSR Academy of Sciences , Institute of Permafrost Studies of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Geography of the USSR Academy of Sciences ; in the late 60s. - At the Tbilisi University , in the 70s - at the Pacific Institute of Geography of the USSR Academy of Sciences .

Landscape geophysics is closely related to other physiographic areas - landscape science , landscape geochemistry , geomorphology , climatology , hydrology , cryolithology, and others. There are specific sections of science, such as landscape optics and landscape radiophysics, as well as applied ones — assessing the impact of human economic activity on the environment, land reclamation, and so on. The organization of geophysics studies is based primarily on stationary observations and aerospace information .
