He came from the spiritual estate. In 1854 he graduated with a degree in human rights from the cameral department of the Law Faculty of St. Petersburg University and in December of the same year he entered the service of the customs duties department.
In 1855, he joined the Public Library : he was enlisted as an official on December 21 to work in the Department of the History of Lithography and Printing. Characterized as a worker with "excellent abilities."
In 1856, he simultaneously taught geography and statistics at the St. Petersburg Technological Institute [1] .
He joined the Ministry of Finance on November 14, 1857 and consistently spent 30 years as governor of the Council of the headquarters of mining engineers, was an assistant and clerk of the Mining Council , head of the private gold mining department of the Mining Department and, finally, a member of the Mining Council.
He died on November 12 ( 24 ), 1885 in St. Petersburg with the rank of a real state adviser (since 1880). He was buried in Gatchina [2] .
