AIR-6 ( Ya-6 ) - Soviet light multi-purpose aircraft - strut high-wing aircraft with a closed three-seater cabin. The abbreviation AIR in honor of the chairman of the Central Council, Osoaviakhim Alexei Ivanovich Rykov . At one time, AIR-6 was unofficially called "the executive committee plane" or "flying car." AIR-6 - the first production car of A. S. Yakovlev . In the period from 1934 to 1936, 468 AIR-6 copies were issued, of which 20 were in the sanitary version. In May 1937, on the float version of AIR-6, pilot Ya. V. Pismenny set a record for non-stop flight range. He flew along the route Kiev - Batumi , covering a distance of 1297 km in 16 hours 25 minutes.

To connect the deep settlements with the regional and regional centers, a small aircraft was required, capable of operating at small airfields . Initially, it received the designation AIR-6, traditional for Yakovlev cars of that period, however, after the arrest in 1937, A. I. Rykov was designated as “ Aircraft engineer. The fuselage is welded from steel pipes and additionally brushed. The fuselage skin is plain. In the cockpit there is a pilot seat in front, followed by a sofa with two seats for passengers.
