Clodfelter, Dan

Born June 2, 1950 in Thomasville , North Carolina . After graduating from high school in Thomasville, he continued his studies at Davidson College, where he received a bachelor of science degree after graduating. In 1972, Dan Klodfelter received a Rhodes Scholarship and continued his studies at Oxford University . In 1977, he graduated from the Law School at Yale Law School . After graduating from Yale Law School, Dan Klodfelter worked in the North Carolina judiciary from 1977 to 1978, then practiced private law in Charlotte ^{[1] [2]} .

From 1987 to 1993, Dan Clodfelter was a member of the Charlotte City Council. In 1998, he was elected a member of the Senate of North Carolina, served as co-chair of the finance committee and vice chairman of the Senate Legal Committee. Since 1982, Dan Klodfelter has been the trustee of the Trustee of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation ^{[3] [4]} .

On March 26, 2014, Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon resigned amid allegations of corruption, and several members of the Charlotte City Council announced their support for Dan Clodfelter’s candidacy for mayor. On April 7, 2014, the City Council of Charlotte appointed Dan Klodfelter, he replaced the acting Michael Barnes . Dan Clodfelter quit the North Carolina Senate and was sworn in as mayor of Charlotte. In 2015, he again ran for mayor, but was defeated in the inner-party elections of the US Democratic Party by Jennifer Roberts . Dan Clodfelter is married to Elizabeth Bevan, the couple has two adult children ^{[5] [6]} .
