Paraligatorids [1] ( lat. Paralligatoridae , literally - next to alligators) - a family of extinct crocodilomorphs from the eusuchian clade, living from the Jurassic to Cretaceous periods. Representatives are found in South and North America , Africa and Eurasia [2] . In the Upper Cretaceous sediments of the Amur Region , Russia , the genus Shamosuchus was discovered [3] .

The oldest representative is Batrachomimus , found in the Oxford - Kimmeridge layers of Brazil [4] .
Initially, the family was included in the Neosuchia clade, but since 2015 it has been considered inside the Eusuchia clade, which also includes representatives of Hylaeochampsidae and modern crocodiles [5] .
According to the Paleobiology Database website, as of March 2018, the family includes 7 extinct genera [2] :

The following binomens also belong to the genus nomen dubium : Kansajsuchus borealis Efimov, 1975 and Paralligator sungaricus Sun, 1958 [2] .
