Kresnik ( Croatian and word. krsnik, kresnik, kršnjak, krisnik, skrisnik, grišnjak ) - in South Slavic mythology a special person who is able to fight evil forces to protect society ( community ) from misfortune and crop failure [1] .
Kresnik is born in an ordinary family, but with characteristic attributes: in a white “shirt” or a red “cap” (see Amniotic membrane ). Since the “shirt” and “cap” are considered to be a source of power, without which he loses his magical abilities, they were either sewn under his left armpit or dried and ground up with food. Men usually became kresnik, but women are also found. Growing up to 18–20 years old, the young couch lived like an ordinary person, and then he initiated through the oldest or most powerful couch.
