Biography
From 1974 to 1976 he played for the club Young Africans . Since 1975, he has been a player in the Tanzania national football team , in which he took part in the first historical African Cup of Nations in 1980. In 1977-1981, he was the captain of the Tanzanian national team.
Then, in 1981-1984, he trained the players of the Pan African FC club.
He put a lot of effort into developing and raising the level of football in Tanzania and East Africa.
In 1988-1990, he worked as Secretary General of the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) , from 1990 to 2002 he was a member of the Tanzania National Sports Council and deputy chairman of the council from 2000 to 2002.
From 2005 to 2013 - President of the Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) .
In 2007, he was elected for a four-year term as president of the Council of Football Associations of East and Central Africa ( CECAFA ), which is the organizer of the Senior Challenge Cup, the oldest football tournament in Africa.
Under his leadership, Tanzania rose from 175th place in the FIFA / Coca-Cola World ranking at the end of 2004 to 93rd in 2010.
