Chef's house

The Shefsky House ( Tamesov House ) is a historical building in Moscow in the Khamovniki district ( Komsomolsky Prospect , 13). Built at the end of the XVIII century on the basis of the chambers of the beginning of the XVIII century. Included in the complex Khamovnicheskih barracks . The patronage house belongs to the classicism style and has the status of an object of cultural heritage of federal significance [1] .

Chef house at the beginning of the 20th century

History

At the beginning of the 18th century, chambers of the estate of A. F. Lopukhin were built at this place [2] . These were wooden mansions on stone cellars, in the mezzanine floor there was a hall [3] . In 1718, the manor was bought by the Dutchman I. P. (John) Tames, the director of the nearby Khamovnicheskaya linen manufactory . In the 1770-1880-ies, "on the cellars" of the old chambers, on the initiative of I. I. Tames, a new residential building was built. At the beginning of the 19th century, the house was included in the complex of the Khamovnichesky barracks built nearby. It was called the Chief of House , since it was intended for the quartering of officers and the chief ( honorary commander ) of the regiment . In 1817–1818, the Decembrists N. M. Muravyov , S. I. Muravyov-Apostol , M. I. Muravyov-Apostol , M. A. Fonvizin , F. P. Shakhovskoy , I. D. Yakushkin and others [4] .

In 1970, the building housed the board of the Writers' Union of the RSFSR . Today, the building is occupied by the Union of Writers of Russia [3] .

Architecture

Chef house built in the spirit of early Moscow classicism . The front facade is decorated with a four- column portico with two ramps, entrances on its sides [2] . Architectural decoration is kept to a minimum [4] . In the design of the facade used the blades and vertical niches , it is painted in three colors: white, yellow and red-ocher [2] .

The original proportions of the mansion were broken, after the windows of the third floor had been cut through the frieze . The windows of the first and second floors were also expanded [3] .
