Valery Vasilyevich Semenets ( Ukrainian: Valery Vasilyovich Semenets ) (born January 26, 1955 , Grebenka ) is a Soviet and Ukrainian scientist, doctor of technical sciences, professor, rector of the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics .

Biography

Semenets Valery began his career in the locomotive depot "Comb" of the Southern Railway.

In the years 1973-1975 he served in the ranks of the Soviet army.

1975 entered the Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics at the Faculty of Radio Equipment Design and in 1980 graduated with honors, having received the qualification of design engineer and technologist of electronic computing equipment.

In 1984 he graduated from graduate school, successfully defended his thesis “Methods and algorithms for optimizing the placement of heat-generating sources in multi-chip microassemblies taking into account the conditions for tracing electrical connections”.

In 1992, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic "Theoretical foundations of the automated design of technical systems based on multi-chip microcircuits" [1] . In 1994 he was awarded the title of professor.

In subsequent years, he worked as an assistant professor, professor at the Department of Biomedical Electronics, vice-rector for educational and methodical work (1995-2003), first vice-rector (2003-2012).

In 2017, elected rector of KNURE.

Scientific activity

Valery Semenets is the author of more than 300 publications [3] , including 49 textbooks, 2 textbooks, 7 monographs, 65 patents and certificates for inventions [4] . He is the chief editor of the All-Ukrainian Interdepartmental Scientific and Technical Collection "Automated Control Systems and Automation Devices" [5] , the journal "The Current State of Scientific Research and Technology in Industry" [6] .

Under his leadership 3 doctoral, 8 master's theses were defended [7] .

Member of the dissertation council for the defense of dissertations at the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics. Chairman of the Scientific Council of KNURE.

International activities

1998-1999 - expert of the European Union project "Tempus-Tasis" Jyväskylä, Finland.

1999 - Head of the student internship program at German enterprises through DAAD.

2001 - Head of the delegation to establish partnerships with universities of the PRC, Guangzhou.

2003 - Project Coordinator, US Department of State “A Partnership for Educational and Technical Change,” Bethlehem.

2004 - coordinator of the project of the US Department of State “A Partnership for Educational and Technical Change”, Baku, Azerbaijan.

2009-2014 - Member of the Coordinating Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for the education of students with disabilities.

Since 2017, he has been leading official international delegations to establish partnerships in the field of education and science with universities in Poland, France, China, Latvia and other countries.
