Hockey career

Mus Joe Warriors

Point was selected at number 14 in the 2011 draft of the Western Hockey League by the Mus Joe Warriors Club. He played 5 seasons for the team. In the 2013/14 season, I got to the CHL / NHL Top Prospects Game (analogue of the All-Star Game in the NHL).

Despite 91 points in the 2013/14 season, the 2014 NHL Draft was selected only in the 3rd round by the Tampa Bay Lightning team. Such a low choice is justified by the small dimensions of Braden - at the time of the draft, the player's growth was only 176 cm.

In the 2014/15 season, he again became the top scorer and sniper of the Mus Joe. At the end of the season in the ZHL, he signed a 3-year rookie contract with Tampa and joined the Lightning farm club in the AHL - Syracuse Crunch , which included 2 matches in the Calder Cup playoffs .

NHL Career

Point 2016/17 season began in the main team of Tampa Bay. On October 13, he made his debut in the NHL in a match against the Detroit Red Wings , in which the Bolts won 6-4. October 15, scored the first point in the meeting against the “ New Jersey Devils ”, giving in the 3rd period an assist to Valtteri Filppule , who scored the winning goal. November 5 threw the first goal, again in a match with the New Jersey Devils. In late December, was injured in the upper body and missed about a month. At the end of the season, he scored 40 points, but Tampa could not get into the playoffs .

In the 2017/18 season, he improved his statistics by playing in the center of the 2nd link and scoring 66 points. In the playoffs, he entered the top three team scorers, gaining 16 points, like Steven Stamkos , and only 1 point less than the best Tampa scorer Nikita Kucherov .
