Biography
Pavel Vasilyevich Roslyakov was born on May 10, 1949 in Kazan [1] .
In 1972, he graduated from the Power Engineering Department of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI) with a degree in steam generator engineering . From 1972 to the present, he has been working at the MPEI at the Department of Steam Generating Engineering in the following positions: research fellow (1972-1980), assistant (since 1980), associate professor (since 1985), professor of the department (since 1994) [2] (in 2014 during restructuring MPEI department became part of the enlarged department of Steam and gas turbines as a department [3] [4] ).
In 1979 he defended his thesis, and in 1993 - his doctoral dissertation [2] .
In 1997, he was elected dean of the Faculty of Power Engineering at Moscow Power Engineering Institute, and after the latter was transformed in 2002 into the Institute of Power Engineering and Mechanics of Moscow Power Engineering Institute (ENMI), he was the director of this institute (until 2006). In 2006-2013. - First Vice-Rector of MPEI for Academic Affairs; at the same time (from 2005 to 2014) he worked as the head of the Department of Steam Generation [5] [6] .
Scientific activity
Research interests: optimization of non-traditional methods of burning fuels in power plants in order to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides into the environment without impairing the efficiency and reliability of the plants, theoretical work in the field of environmentally friendly technologies for burning fuel. Under his leadership, mathematical modeling methods were actively introduced into the research carried out at Energomash MPEI, software products for thermal power plants and boiler houses were developed that were used in the design of boiler plants . P.V. Roslyakov also took part in international projects under the TACIS program [6] [7] .
Currently, he is developing systems for continuous monitoring and regulation of harmful emissions of thermal power plants into the atmosphere, allowing to increase the environmental safety of power equipment [8] .
P.V. Roslyakov is the author of more than 300 publications, including 3 monographs, 19 textbooks and teaching aids; author of 9 patents for inventions and utility models [9] [10] . Under his leadership, 5 candidate dissertations were prepared and defended [11] .
Being the dean of the Power Engineering Faculty of MPEI and the chairman of the educational-methodical council of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation in the direction "Energy Engineering", he was involved in the development of State educational standards of the second generation [11] .
