The Iranian Encyclopedias Foundation ( pers. بنیاد دانشنامهنگاری ایران ) is a research institution subordinate to the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology , founded in 1992 by Ahmad Birashk. The duties of this institution include the compilation and translation into Persian of universal encyclopedias and dictionaries. The foundation began its work under the name “The Great Persian Encyclopedia Foundation”, and then in 2008 it was renamed the Iranian Encyclopedia Foundation. The Fund is currently managed by Manouchehr Akbari. The head office of the Fund is located in the Tehran region of Saadatabad.
In an effort to partially satisfy the need of the scientific community for information, the Iranian Encyclopedias Foundation has compiled more than 20 encyclopedias in various fields of science, including biotechnology, astronomy, biology and physics, as well as translated and published approx. 5,000 pages of "Scientific Description of Scientists."

Tasks
1. Expansion of research in the field of Persian language and literature and compilation of encyclopedias.
2. Creating the necessary conditions to increase the level of research and innovation in the field of compiling encyclopedias.
3. Focus on the development of research in the field of compiling encyclopedias and gaining access to new knowledge and technologies in the mentioned field in order to ensure its highest development in the country.
4. Commercialization of research results.
5. Popularization of science and literature, increasing the level of knowledge of society in these areas.
6. Presentation to the Iranian people and the world community of the country's scientific and literary heritage.
Rights and Obligations
1. Creation of necessary opportunities consistent with educational, research and cultural activities based on the values of the Islamic revolution.
2. Identification and study of research queries in the field of compilation of encyclopedias.
3. Implementation of fundamental and applied research projects and developments as part of the implementation of the objectives of the Fund.
4. Cooperation with domestic and foreign universities and research institutions in order to improve the quality of scientific activity in the field of encyclopedias compilation, subject to the relevant rules and regulations.
5. The provision of consulting services to individuals and legal entities based on the results of the Fund’s research activities.
6. The publication of magazines, scientific monographs and textbooks, the production of software, the compilation and translation of texts and essays in accordance with the objectives of the Fund in accordance with certain criteria and standards.
7. Conducting scientific conferences and presenting research results as part of training seminars in compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
8. Compilation and publication of general and specialized encyclopedias in various fields of science, as well as a universal encyclopedia of human knowledge in the Persian language.
Publishing
The fund will develop additional publishing in two areas:
1. Encyclopedias and encyclopedic dictionaries for various branches of science, literature and art.
2. Persian-Persian, as well as encyclopedias and encyclopedic dictionaries translated into Persian and Persian.
