Final
The main competition in shot put in men took place on August 6, 2017 [3] . In terms of the results shown, the tournament has become one of the best in history. For the first time in athletics immediately seven people pushed the core for 21 meters. The best results were shown for places five through eleven.
The gold medal was won by Thomas Walsh from New Zealand. Then, in the World Cup finals, only Werner Gunther's shell was sent in 1987 (22.23 m) and Reese Hoffa in 2007 (22.04 m). The current champion Joe Kovacs took second place. In the sixth attempt, he pushed the core to an area of 22 meters, but the judges, despite the protests of the American, did not count this throw, as they recorded a span outside the circle for throwing. A similar situation occurred with compatriot Kovacs Ryan Krauser : his attempt to 22 meters was not counted, and the world season leader remained only in sixth place. Croatian Stipe Junich achieved the first major success in his career. He lost 2 centimeters to his personal record, but a result of 21.46 meters was enough for a bronze medal [4] .
