Ariana ( Greek Δήμος Αρριανών ) is a community (dim) in the north-east of Greece . Included in the peripheral unit of the Rhodopes in the periphery of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace . The population of 16,577 inhabitants at the 2011 census [2] . The area is 771.175 square kilometers [1] . The density of 21.5 people per square kilometer [2] . The administrative center of the community is Filira [2] . In 2014 local elections, Amet Ritvan ( Αμέτ ιτβάν ) was elected as a dimarch .

In 2010, under the Kallikratis program , the abolished community of Filira was joined to the Ariane community, as well as the Kehros community and the Organization [3] .
