The titular church of Sant'Onofrio - the titular church was created by Pope Leo X on July 6, 1517 , when, during the consistory of July 1, 1517, the number of cardinals increased significantly.
Pope Sixtus V raised the rank of titular diaconia to the titular church of the Cardinal Priest on April 13, 1587 by the Apostolic Constitution β Religiosa β. The titular diaconia belongs to the church of Sant Onofrio , located in the Rome Trastevere district , on the piazza Sant Onofrio.
