Biography
Valery Egorovich Belenikin, Russian artist, was born in 1961 in Moscow.
In 1991 he graduated from the V.I. Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute (the monumental workshop of Yu. K. Korolyov ).
Since 1991, his exhibition activities began.
From 1991 to 1997, about 70 personal exhibitions were held in Russia and abroad (in Australia, Austria, Belgium, USA, Sri Lanka, etc.).
In 1997, the artist moved to the United States. Exhibited in the best galleries in New York and Long Island (where he held a charity auction in favor of the Philharmonic (Sauf Hampton)). Holds an exhibition at Government House in Harrisburg , PA. In 2000 he opened his own gallery in New Hope, Pennsylvania, and then in the antique town of Lambertville, New Jersey.
In 2006, his exhibition “A Look into the Future” was successfully held at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. It caused a positive response among art critics and had a wide public outcry.
In 2007, the artist returned to his homeland and continued to work on a series of paintings: “Slavic myths”, “100 portraits of prominent Russian people”, “Cities of Russia”.
Member of the Union of Artists of UNESCO.
The works of Valery Belenikin are in private collections in Russia, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Australia, Japan, Tunisia, Sweden, the USA, Argentina and other countries.
In 2009, the artist was mentioned in the Encyclopedia of Fantastic Artists by Gerhard Hubart. Lexikon der phantastischen. Künstlerinnen & Künstler. Surrealisten / Phantasten / Symbolisten / Visionäre .
