The season 2018 of the Russian Series of Ring Races (RSKG) is the fifth season of the championship and the Cup of Russia , held under the name SMP RSKG and the 26th season of the championship of Russia in ring racing in general.

In the final calendar relative to the previous season, the venues of the last three races have changed. After a year break, the race returned to Sochi Autodrom , which changed the date of the Moscow Region stage - the Moscow Raceway took the fifth stage instead of the sixth. And the season finale moved from Kazan Ring to the Chechen circuit Groznaya Fortress ^[1] .

Mikhail Mityaev one stage before the end of the season prematurely won the Cup of Russia in the Super-Production class. Dmitry Bragin won the championship title in Touring for the third time in a row. Irina Sidorkova became the winner of the RAF Championship in the National-Junior category, becoming the first girl to win in the overall classification of the tournament in one of the classes of Russian ring races. In the tight fight for the championship in the Touring Light with a one-point advantage, Grigory Burlutsky became the winner, and in the National classification the Cup of Russia was won by Pavel Kalmanovich, who returned to the series after a two-year break.

The system of accrual of credits has remained the same.

The number of penalty points that the rider must miss the next stage, was reduced from 12 to 9 ^[2] . As a result, Denis Mavlanov, who by decision of the judges did not start in the first race of the stage on the Moscow Raceway , became the first rider who missed the race of the RSKG due to the excess of penalty points.

Any cars with a sequential gearbox were now allowed to participate in the TCR category (a year earlier only LADA Vesta TCR enjoyed such privileges). In the “Super-production” class, the “Stoke” subcategory was introduced, which allowed cars to be competed in a performance close to the production one with an engine with a displacement up to 2000 cm² ^[2] .

Racing in the classes "Super-production" and "Touring Light" were combined in one race.
