Biography

He graduated from the Nikolaev Lyceum and the Nikolaev Higher School of Physical Culture. The father is a professional football player, now he is engaged in the production of euro windows and furniture. Mother - a housewife, she graduated from music school in violin. It was she who chose the name for her son as an abbreviation of Marx-Lenin. There is a brother who is engaged in mixed martial arts at the amateur level, and a grandmother who lives in Turkey [3] .

Marlene has been engaged in cycling since 2008, the first coach is Viktor Ivanovich Kalinchuk. He played at Ukrainian competitions from the Nikolaev region. Idols in cycling - Vitaly Buts, who spoke for the professional team of Lampre, and the master of separate start Fabian Cancellara and Bradley Uvgins. The first international medal Marlene won in 2010 at the European Championship in Turkish Ankara, taking 3rd place in the individual race. According to Marlen, a mile before the finish there was a puncture in the tire, which certainly deprived Marlene of winning the championship. Further, he became the champion of the country in the separate race, was second in the category “Andera” among juniors, but at the World Championships, due to insufficient preparation, he took 18th place [3] .

After moving to the Italian team “Pallacago”, the coaches took up his individual preparation, which helped him to win two wins in the individual individual start since 2012: one at the Italian competition and the other at the international one. He chose the team because the leading Ukrainian cyclists Yaroslav Popovich (bronze medalist of the Giro d'Italia ), Yuri Krivtsov (winner of the World Cup) and Yuri Metlushenko (winner of 18 victories) played in the past. Despite serious problems with adaptation, he learned Italian in a few months [3] .

At the 2013 European Championships in the Czech Republic, Marlene took the 4th place in the race with a separate start and then was sent to the group race, however in the resulting blockage he fell and was seriously injured (at the same time one Polish cyclist suffered, who spent a week in a coma, and Belarusian cyclist, which imposed two seams). He had two teeth knocked out, his nose was broken and two discs flew out of the spine. In the hospital, he underwent two operations and missed a total of one month and three weeks. After the hospital, Marlene began to prepare for the World Cup and drove to the finish line in the race, despite her complete unavailability. He concealed the fact of the fall from his family, and only his brother came to support Marlen [3] .

He is fond of classical music and chanson, lives in the city of Bergamo. A close friend is Arianna Fidanza, the daughter of a former world cycling champion [3] .
