"Thunder" or "Donder" (from the Netherlands. Donder - thunder) - sailing bombing ship of the Azov fleet of Russia , one of the first bombing ships of the Russian fleet.

Ship Description
Sailing bombardir ship with a wooden hull. The length of the ship was 26.9 meters [comm. 1] , width - 8.5 meters [comm. 2] , and the draft - 3.1 meters [comm. 3] . The ship’s armament consisted of 14 guns, including 2 mortars , ten 24-pounders and two 6-pounder guns [1] [2] [3] .
Service history
The Bombardier ship "Thunder" was laid at the Chizhovskaya shipyard in September 1697 and after launching in May 1699 it became part of the Russian Azov fleet. The ship was built at the expense of Gostiny Kumpanstvo , the construction was led by the shipbuilder August Meer [comm. 4] [1] [3] [4] [5] .
On March 23 ( April 3 ), 1703 , the ship moved to the mouth of the Don , where shipbuilder J. Kornilisen began its modernization [1] [3] .
As of 1710, he was on the blocks in Tavrov , information about the future of the ship and its withdrawal from the fleet was not preserved [1] [3] .
