Miriam Vogt ( German: Miriam Vogt ; born March 20, 1967 , Starnberg ) is a German skier . Represented the German and Alpine skiing teams in 1985-1998, world champion, winner of the World Cup, participant in two winter Olympic games.

Biography
Miriam Vogt was born on March 20, 1967 in Starnberg , Bavaria . In winter she went skiing, and in the summer she was engaged in rowing (her older brother Markus Vogt later became a rather famous rower, winner of the World Cup, participant in the Olympic Games). Ultimately, at the insistence of the coach, she made a choice in favor of skiing, was trained in Unterammergau in the local club of the same name WSV Unterammergau.
In 1985, she became a member of the West German national team and performed at the Junior World Championships in Czechoslovakia, where she became eighth in slalom, sixteenth in giant slalom and nineteenth in downhill.
For the first time, she was among the winners of the World Cup in the 1989/90 season, winning a silver medal in downhill during the stage in Italian Santa Caterina. I visited the 1991 World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglemm , where already in the team of the united Germany she took the twelfth place in the downhill and the fourth in combination.
Thanks to a series of successful performances, she was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville - she showed the ninth result in combination and downhill here, while in the program the super giant was located on the eighteenth line in the final protocol.
One of the most successful seasons in her sports career was the 1992/93 season. She won the first and only victory in the World Cup, beating all rivals in downhill during the stage in the American Weila. In addition, she successfully performed at the world championship in Moriok , from where she brought the gold dignity award, obtained in combination.
Being among the leaders of the German national team, Vogt successfully passed the selection for the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer - this time she became the ninth in combination, the twelfth in downhill, while she did not finish in slalom.
After the Lillehammer Olympics, Miriam Vogt remained in the main ski team in Germany and continued to take part in major international competitions. So, she performed at the 1996 World Championships in Sierra Nevada and 1997 in Sestriere - in both cases she showed the seventh result in combination.
In 1998, Vogt left the German national team, although even before 2001, she played at various competitions at the national level, including in Switzerland and Austria. During her sports career, she climbed a total of eight times on the podium of the World Cup stages, receiving five bronze medals, two silver and one gold. She never managed to conquer the Crystal Globe, but in one of the seasons she was in a combination of the second. The highest position in the overall classification of all disciplines is fourth place.
Since 2005, he has been President of the Bavarian Ski Federation [1] .
In 2017, she was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit [2] .
