Story

The film begins with the arrival of Tora-san at his home, located at the sweets shop in Shibamata (Tokyo). Together with her sister Sakura and her husband Hiroshi, Tora-san visits their son’s teacher Mitsuo, twenty-year-old Masako Yagyu, whose mother was Torajiro’s childhood friend. Of course, Tora-san instantly falls for a beautiful young woman and completely usurps the meeting, chatting and trying to charm her. He was especially annoyed by the behavior of the Torah Hiroshi; he is deeply concerned about his son’s future, dreaming that his offspring would go to college after school, which Hiroshi himself — a simple worker in a printing house — could never afford. Hiroshi wanted to seriously talk with the teacher, but as soon as he tried to start a conversation, Tora-san wedged in between them and, changing the subject, blinded the teacher, without giving a word to the boy’s parents.

Sakura was equally upset by the behavior of her unbearable brother, and upon returning home, Tora-san receives a good thrashing. The offended Torajiro leaves the house again and travels around the country. He even ends up in prison, from which he will be released through the efforts of Sakura. Returning again to Sibamata, Tora-san receives another scolding from Sakura, during which she reprimands him for imprisonment, and recalls the ill-fated meeting with the teacher. The sister is particularly indignant at the fact that the teacher is half the age of Tora-san. In the heat of his complaints, Sakura tells her brother that there would be no problem if, instead of the young Masako, he would lay his eyes on her mother Ayu. Naturally, at this very moment, a lonely, divorced, but still beautiful Aya appears in their candy store, whose ex-husband was a rich man who made his fortune trading in the post-war black market. Aya just left the hospital after a long illness. Torajiro worries about her health, he begins to patronize her and raise her mood, and gradually a feeling of love falls between them ...
