Despite a certain dimension in the release of new records (the last three albums were released with an interval of four to five years), in the circles of the Gothic subculture this group is considered one of the most influential .
The group has its own characteristic sound: melancholy female and male vocals, and old-school electronic musical accompaniment a la Ultravox , Soft Cell , early Clan of Xymox and other groups of the 80s .

History
In 1993 , famous in the narrow musical circles of Turin , Diego Merletto (a member of many local groups) decided to create his own project. Together with guitarist Claudio Brosio, the band The Frozen Autumn was founded. In the same year, the Oblivion demo cassette was released, which was distributed at their concerts. Two years later, the world saw the debut album, which was positively received in Europe. . The team began to go on tour outside of Italy. In 1997 , the second studio album Fragments of Memories was recorded. In the recording of the vocal part in the song of the same name, participated Arianna (Arianna) - a guest vocalist. This album has taken the group to a new level. , they began to be invited to numerous European Gothic events. At one of these events, Diego met Ronnie Moorings, the frontman of the band Clan of Xymox , which with his work significantly influenced the style of The Frozen Autumn . They agreed on cooperation. After touring in support of the album, Claudio left the band. In 2000, along with new tracks, the debut album was re-released.
Diego, who began an affair with Arianna , decided to create a separate project with her Static Movement . In March 1999, the world saw the album Visionary Landscapes . The music was virtually identical to The Frozen Autumn sound, except that there was no guitar. A little later, Arianna became a member of The Frozen Autumn . Around the time, Diego began to engage in video design, the results of his work became a constant component of the concerts of the team.
In 2002 , after almost 5 years of working on new material, the world saw the disk Emotional Screening Device , which is considered the best record of the team. [1] . A video was shot for the song "Is Everything Real?". Then Moorings suggested making a remix of the new Clan of Xymox song “There's No Tomorrow” - this mix ended up in the eponymous EP . In 2004 , a tour of North America took place. The video art that was used at the concerts was created by Diego and Arianna. A year later, the fourth studio album " Is Anybody There? " Appeared on the new label "Pandaimonium". Ronnie Moorings remixed the song "Ashes", which hit the track list of the album.
The following years were poor in events. At the end of 2006 , Diego and Arianna parted, but still continued to work in a team. In 2009 , the Argentinean Twilight Records released re-releases of Visionary Landscapes and Fragments of Memories . A DVD came out on the same label - Seen From Under Ice .
In December of the same year, they posted on their Facebook page the “Manifesto against music killers”, in which they expressed their attitude to the distribution of music via the Internet [2] .
