Family
Born in the city of Laishev of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1923. My father passed away in 1922. Mother - Vera Nikolaevna Nolletova (Zhedyaevskaya) (1894-1983) [2] .
Early student years
In 1938 she was enrolled in the first year of the automotive faculty SADI. In his memoirs (1952) [3] G.D. Zhedyaevskaya gratefully named the names of some of her teachers: F.G. Plokhova (mathematics), G.I. Klimchitsky ( resistance of materials ), Professor Berg ( theoretical mechanics ), V.L. Boinitsky ( descriptive geometry ).
Participation in the Great Patriotic War
In the summer of 1941, she completed practical training at the Leningrad Kirov Plant . After the start of World War II, on June 22, 1941, students returned under the guidance of M.D. Tsfassa [K 1] in Saratov. During the summer of 1941, G.D. Zhedyaevskaya worked in student teams to transport the property of the Saratov Road Institute to other premises of Saratov, in connection with the placement of the aviation industry in the SADI building; at harvesting in the territory of the Volga German Republic ; on the construction of defensive structures (anti-tank ditches, communications and dugouts) around Saratov in the area of the village of Kologrivovka.
On October 8, 1941, women's aviation regiments were organized in Engels: the 586th fighter aviation regiment on Yak-1 aircraft, the 587th aviation regiment of near bombers on Su-2 aircraft (from June 1942 he switched to diving Pe-2 bombers) and 588th night air regiment on U-2 aircraft (hereinafter Po-2). The formation of the regiments was entrusted to Hero of the Soviet Union M.M. Raskova, who was also appointed commander of the 587th Aviation Regiment. [3] At the call of the Saratov city committee of the Komsomol, after the medical commission, students of the SADI Galina Zhedyaevskaya, Vera Maksyushina, Maria Zhirkova, Julia Tyulyakova, Lidia Tselovalnikova, Vera Kolesnikova leave for this regiment. In 1942, G. Zhedyaevskaya entered short-term courses in aircraft mechanics. During her studies, she worked as a minder , after graduation she worked as an aircraft mechanic in the 587th female bomber aviation regiment (from September 4, 1943, the Borisov Borisov orders of the Suvorov and Kutuzov regiments were transformed into the 125th Guards Dive-Bomber Aviation Regiment). Military rank - Guard Senior Sergeant. GD Zhedyaevskaya - served as a mechanic of the crew of the guard of senior lieutenant GD Lomanovoy first squadron of the regiment.
G.D. Zhedyaevskaya was one of the best mechanics of the regiment. During military service, she provided 101 crash-free flights without a single failure or failure to fly the aircraft. Twice it provided quick and high-quality repairs at the site of the emergency landing of a damaged plane. On September 22, 1943, she was awarded the medal "For Military Merit" [7] for excellent work and the restoration of the material part of the regiment.
Labor
After the war, G.D. Zhedyaevskaya returned to the university [8] and successfully completed her studies at the Faculty of Mechanics. She was left at work at the department "Production and Repair of Machines", where she worked a long way from a laboratory assistant to an assistant professor.
Scientific work
G.D. Zhedyaevskaya took part in studies on the conditions for obtaining porous iron coatings and their properties, as a result of which a process of porous cooling was proposed to build up parts operating under high loads and unstable boundary lubrication. In addition, G.D. Zhedyaevskaya studied the wear resistance of electrolytic iron under conditions of limited lubrication; these tests were comparative in nature. [9]
In 1963, G.D. Zhedyaevskaya under the guidance of Doctor of Technical Sciences M.P. Melkova defended her thesis for the degree of candidate of technical sciences on the topic "Research on the conditions for obtaining and some properties of porous sediments of electrolytic iron."
