Story
Carrie ( Claire Danes ), using CCTV cameras, sees an unknown woman ( Sandrine Holt ) enter Wellington's house. Seeking to identify her, she publishes a picture of the woman on 4chan, asking if anyone can identify her. A hacker responds to this post and tricked Carrie into downloading a file that infects her laptop with a ransomware virus . Her files are encrypted, and to unlock them, the computer requires $ 5,000.
Brett O'Keefe ( Jake Weber ), who is harboring the Elkins family, is broadcasting his next episode, accusing President Keane of being somehow involved in the death of General McClendon. Keen ( Elizabeth Marvel ) is concerned about public perception, as she agrees that McClendon’s death looks suspicious. Wellington ( Lainas Roach ) convinces Keane to come forward with his proposal: to release 200 federal employees who were arrested, and to appoint Sola ( Mandy Patinkin ) as national security adviser. Well's first job, Sol, was to watch O'Keefe's hunt.
Max ( Mori Sterling ) fails to fix Carrie's laptop. While they talk about it, a hacker joins their conversation, saying that he listened to them using a microphone in a laptop. He also begins to increase the amount needed to unlock the computer. Max leaves, and Carrie talks to a hacker who threatens to publicize evidence of Wellington spying. Carrying no money to pay the ransom, Carrie improvises and tries to seduce a hacker by doing a striptease on her webcam. Some time later, Carrie insists on a personal meeting. When they meet, Carrie beckons a hacker with sexual contact, but when he comes closer to her, she hits him with her head and then attacks him with the telescopic baton she hid in her boot. Carrie forces the hacker to unlock her laptop and threatens to kill him if he decides to do something with her again.
