Amelie "Malla" Höök ( Swede. Amelie "Malla" Höök ; 1811―1882) is a Swedish actress and courtesan . Played on the stage of the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm in 1828―42. Mostly known in the history of the Swedish theater as the girlfriend of actress Emilia Högkvist , mistress of King Oscar I.
Biography
Father's name Malla Hyok is unknown. She took lessons from ballerinas who performed at the Royal Swedish Ballet in 1825–1826, then she performed with the Berggren Theater troupe in 1826–1828, made her debut at the Royal Dramatic Theater in 1828 and constantly performed in it from 1829 to 1842. . She was a close friend of Emily Högkvist, and first of all known in that capacity. Had a subtree role.
Also gained fame as a courtesan: for several years was the mistress of a Swedish diplomat. In 1842, she ended her theatrical career at the age of 31. At the request of the king was declared an adult (according to the provisions of the Swedish Civil Code of 1734, unmarried women were considered minors, unless they themselves applied for recognition as adults). She had a significant fortune and lived for a long time in a villa in Stockholm outside the Drottningholm area, which she subsequently left and moved to the estate of Ludwig Heghardt (a member of a prominent aristocratic family), who most likely was her biological son.
