Kane Tanaka [2] ( Jap. 田中 カ 子 ; born January 2, 1903 ) is a Japanese centenarian. The oldest living person on Earth since July 22, 2018. Her age of 116 years, 223 days, is beyond doubt.

Biography
Tanaka was born on January 2, 1903. She was a premature baby and fed on milk of the nurse .
Kane Tanaka was married to Hideo Tanaka. During World War II, Kane and her husband worked in a rice cake shop. After her husband and son died in the war, she continued to work in the store and retired at the age of 63. In the 1970s, she visited the United States , where several of her nieces and nephews lived.
In 103, Tanaki was diagnosed with colon cancer , but she was able to defeat the disease. Her son wrote a book about Tanaka when she was 107 years old, which tells about her life and longevity. Her great-nephew believes that she lived so many years thanks to her faith in God [3] . Tanaka herself believes that the secret of her longevity is family, hope, healthy sleep and diet.
As of 2018, Tanaka lives in Fukuoka Prefecture. At the age of 115, she moves with the help of walkers and lives in a nursing home. She loves to write poetry and remember her trips to the USA. She is also interested in calligraphy and computing. When asked how much more she wants to live, she said she wants to live another 5 years [4] .
On July 22, 2018, after the death of her compatriot Tiyo Miyako , Kane Tanaka became the oldest living person [5] .

- On June 18, 2019, after the death of Maria Giuseppe, Robucci Nargiso was the last living person born in 1903 .
