Biography
Zhang Changning was born in Changzhou in a sports family. Father - Zhang Yusheng - former player of the Chinese volleyball team , participant in the 1984 Olympics . Mother - Jiang Hanqiu - physical education teacher at a college in Nanjing . Brother - Zhang Chen - player of the Chinese national volleyball team [1] . In the late 1990s, the family moved to Nanjing , where Zhang Changning began volleyball.
In 2009, Zhang Changning moved to beach volleyball and in the same year took part in the Asian Championship. In the next two years, she also participated in the continental championships on the beach variety of volleyball and in 2011, along with Ma Yuanyuan, became the silver medalist.
In 2013, Zhang Changning decided to switch to classic volleyball, for which she was disqualified by the sports leadership of Jiangsu province [1] , but after protests by the volleyball community and the media, the disqualification was lifted and from the 2013-2014 season the athlete has been playing for the Jiangsu Zenit Steel team ”, With whom she became the champion (in 2017) and three more prize-winner of the national championship of China . In 2016 and 2017, Zhang Changning was recognized as the best player in the national championships.
In 2014, an 18-year-old volleyball player was included in the national team of China , taking part in the Asian Cup (entered the symbolic seven of the tournament), and then in the Asian Games (the main team was involved in the World Cup during the Games). In 2015, in the World Cup, Zhang Changning replaced the sick Hui Joci in the starting lineup of the national team and became the second most successful in her team after Zhu Ting [2] . In the same year, the volleyball player became the champion of Asia for the first time .
In 2016, Zhang Changning became the Olympic champion in the Chinese national team. Having started the tournament as a sub-player, in decisive matches the volleyball player acted as a diagonal striker and according to the results of the competition she became the third in the number of points scored in her team, losing only to Zhu Ting and Xu Yunli . 2017 brought Zhang Changning and the Chinese team victory in the prestigious World Cup .
