Born in Leningrad. He graduated from the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute (1952, with honors).
Since 1953 he worked in the Leningrad NPO "Granit": engineer, senior and leading engineer, chief designer, deputy. chief engineer, first deputy. Director General, Chief Engineer, Deputy. Director General for Research, since 1985, Director General of NGOs.
General Designer of the basic means of the environmental complex of the Russian Federation (1992). Supervised the creation and development of marine instrumentation, the design of the ship "Ecopatrol".

Lenin Prize (1967). USSR State Prize (1984). Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation (1995). He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and the October Revolution.
