Ivan Semenovich Rudenkov ( August 29, 1887 , Kharkov - September 28, 1950 , Riga ) - Russian author and performer of satirical stories, theater actor. Creator of the first Latvian Puppet Theater of Puppets (later director of the State Puppet Theater), creator of the Jewish Latvian Puppet Theater "Sholom Aleichem". Honored Artist of the Latvian SSR [1] .

Biography
Born on August 29, 1887 in Kharkov [1] . He graduated from the Kharkov Music and Drama Institute and worked as an actor in a number of theaters in Russia [1] .
In 1922 he moved to Riga and a year later created there the first Latvian professional puppet theater, located on the street. Kenya, 30 (now St. Richard Wagner Street ) [1] .
Alexander Kuprin noted in the preface to the book of Ivan Rudenkov:
I so often laughed with a joyful, young, fresh and carefree laugh, seeing you on stage and reading your funny scenes, which I hope you will allow me to define your sweet work with short words: "Humor is a wonderful thing, a good-natured joke does not hurt ..." And this will be the surest preface to your book [2]
September 26, 1950 died after a long illness.
