Geography
Length - km. The average width is km, the largest is km. Depth average - m, maximum - m. Altitude: n / a. The nearest settlement is the village of Mirnoye , located north of the estuary.
Kruglen'ke is located in the Danube Delta on the territory of the Stensovskii (Stensovsko-Zhebriyansky) floodplains , which are separated from the Black Sea and the Danube-Sasik Canal. The estuary Grabovsky and Surkov , Kruglyonoye lakes, Fields form a single water complex on the Murza river at the confluence of the Nerushay river. This complex is limited by hydraulic structures (dams from all sides, except the south). The parameters of the reservoir are variable and depend on the water regime of the Murza River and the Nerushai River and their seasonal fluctuations. The shores are gentle and represented by abundant coastal-aquatic vegetation.
Economic Significance
It is part of the Danube Biosphere Reserve (the Stensovsko-Zhebriyans plavnyi natural complex - a zone of regulated conservation regime), created in 1998 with a total area of 50,252.9 ha.
It is a nesting site for aquatic and near-water birds. Due to the anthropogenic impact (construction of the dam complex and the Danube-Sasik canal), the natural complex and reservoirs are highly degraded.
