The culture of Brunei is strongly influenced by Malay culture and the Islamic religion . The demographic composition is an important factor, more than 2/3 (65%) of the population are Malays , and the rest are Chinese , Indians , Dayak , Kadazans , etc. [1] .

Language and Religion
The official language is Brunei Malay. The official status of the language was acquired on September 29, 1959 after the signing of the Constitution . English is also widely used. It is studied in secondary and higher schools and is used in the business sector. Other languages spoken by the people of Brunei are Chinese and Hindi. [2]
The official religion in Brunei is Islam, which was adopted in the 15th century, and received the status of official religion in 1959. 67% of the population profess Islam, 13% - Buddhism , 10% - Christianity , the remaining 10% - other religions. In 1956, a law was adopted on Sharia courts, which consider civil, family and criminal cases [3] .
