Biography

Born June 25, 1894 in Kiev , brother of the artist V.I. Pastukhov .

He studied at the Kiev Art College under A. A. Murashko , was a member of the Kiev Association of Artists since 1916; participant of the Kiev exhibitions - the “ Ring ” group, the Kiev Association of Artists [1] , the Association of Ukrainian Plastic Artists .

In 1920 he emigrated to the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (later - Yugoslavia ). He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Zagreb with a degree in professor M. Vank . Together with his brother, he held several solo exhibitions in Belgrade . He participated in the exhibition of the Association of Russian Artists in the Kingdom of the Artists Union in 1928 and the Great Exhibition of Russian Art in Belgrade in 1930. Also exhibited in Zagreb, Ljubljana , Rome and Paris. [2]

In 1937, Pastukhov settled in Paris. In 1942 he married the artist Julia Vorsvik , who was his student. [3] In the 1960s, he moved to London. He participated in exhibitions in London and New York .

He died on February 2, 1974 in London.

In June 1991, the exhibition “Boris Pastukhov and Julia Vorsvik - Two Russian Artists Working in Paris and London” was held at the London John Denham Gallery. Exhibition of works from their own collections of artists. "

The artist's works are in museums in Zagreb and Belgrade.
