Founder of the direction for the automation of the educational process in the Soviet Union . Organizer of the MEI-film studio and the first Soviet Student Design Bureau [3] .

Biography

Yuri Kushelev was born March 13, 1931 in the city of Michurinsk, Tambov region . His father was an employee. He graduated from school with a silver medal, at that time the family already lived in Moscow [3] .

In 1950, Yuri Kushelev entered the first year of the Faculty of Electrovacuum Engineering and Special Instrumentation at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute . In 1956 he graduated with honors from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute with a degree in Automation and Telemechanics. Then he entered graduate school - its leader was Professor L. I. Tkachev. In 1957, Yuri Kushelev headed the Department of Automation and Telemechanics of the Student Design Bureau of Cybernetics . In 1960, on its basis, the Student Design Bureau of the Institute was created, which was abbreviated as SKB MPEI [3] .

Yuri Kuleshev led the development of the first model of the electromechanical device β€œMEI Examiner”. It was developed and created to conduct an automated student performance test. The development was carried out by students of the AVTF and employees of the Department of Automation and Telemechanics [4] . In 1962, he became the head of the department of technical teaching aids at MPEI, which was created by the Ministry of Higher Education of the RSFSR [5] .

Soon, the Interdepartmental Laboratory of New Methods and Means of Education appeared at MPEI, for short - MUL MPEI. This happened thanks to the initiative of Yuri Nikolayevich Kushelev, as well as with the support of the Vice-Rector of MPEI Professor P. A. Iokin and Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Education of the RSFSR A. G. Lebedev, Although P. D. Lebedev was the scientific adviser, and Yu. N. Kushelev. The laboratory developed the effective use of technical training tools by teachers of the institute [6] .

His work was marked by the GDR medal β€œActivist of Socialist Labor” [7] .

Nikolay Kushelev died in 2000 [1] .
