Oldmeldrum or Meldrum ( English Oldmeldrum , cattle Oldmeldrum , Gelsk. Meall Druim ) is a small town in the county of Aberdeenshire in the northeast of Scotland , near Inverurie . The population of Oldmedrum is 3240 people (2016).

Until 1684, the settlement was called Bethelnie.
Population
The population of the Oldmeldrum burg was 1 110 in 1911 and 1 103 in 1951. [1] According to the results of the 2001 census , 2,0003 people lived in it, and by 2006 the population had increased to 2,187. For 2016 this number is already 3,240.
Famous natives
The botanist William Forsyth (1737-1804) and artist William Keith (1838-1911) were born in the city.
