Story
Carrie ( Claire Danes ) and Frannie live in Washington, DC with her sister Carrie, Maggie ( Amy Hargreaves ), her husband Bill ( Mackenzie Astin ), and their teenage daughter, Josie (Courtney Grossbeck). The tension in the family is high because Bill works for President Keane, while Carrie and Josie are very ardent opponents of her administration.
At a military tribunal, President Keen ( Elizabeth Marvel ) advocates that General McClendon ( Robert Nepper ) be executed for his role in the plot and attempted murder. Ultimately, he is sentenced to life imprisonment. Keen is unhappy with the outcome and orders his administration head, Wellington ( Linas Roach ), to fix it.
Carrie convinces Senator Paley ( Dylan Baker ) to speak with Dante Allen ( Morgan Spector ), her FBI contact person. Carrie promises that Dante will make a statement about the misconduct of Keen and her staff. That evening, Dante arrives at the scene, but Carrie notices the man who is chasing him. She comes up with a new place to meet, Maggie's office, although for this she has to call Josie to deliver the keys to the office. The meeting quickly falls apart when Dante refuses to testify, as he initially did not agree to this. Back home, Maggie and Bill scold Carrie for putting at risk Josie and Franny. Maggie argues that Kerry's careless behavior goes into mania, although Kerry insists that she is treated.
Sola ( Mandy Patinkin ), who is still in prison, visits Wellington. He offers Saul not only an exemption, but also a national security adviser position. Saul says he will agree to this, but on the condition that all those who have fallen under the second wave of arrests will be immediately released, to which Wellington refuses. Meanwhile, Max ( Mori Sterling ) penetrates the team, which was sent to Wellington's house to do the combing. He installs several cameras that allow Carrie to spy on Wellington.
McClendon is searched when he is sent to prison. An officer in rubber gloves examines McClendonβs mouth and grabs his tongue. He then leaves the room, ordering McClendon to dress. A few seconds later, McClendon falls and cramps start, and he dies on the spot. We see an unidentified officer watching a monitor through the monitor as McClendon falls and dies, carefully removing his gloves and placing them in a plastic bag.
