Abha [1] [2] ( Arabic: أبها ) is a city in the south-west of Saudi Arabia , the administrative center of the administrative district of Asir . The population according to estimates for 2013 is 485,201 people.

Abha is located at the western end of the Jibal-Hijaz mountains [3] , not far from the Red Sea coast , at an altitude of 2261 m above sea level [4] .

The climate of the city is characterized as semi-arid. Due to its unique geographical position, it is cooler and wetter than the climate of most of Saudi Arabia. The average annual temperature is 17.5 ° C; the average annual rainfall is 225 mm. The driest month is October, with a norm of 2 mm; the wettest is April with a norm of 48 mm.
