Born in Krasnodar. He graduated from the Minsk Medical Institute (1972).

- 1978-1980 - Head of the Laboratory of the 9th Minsk City Clinical Hospital,

- 1984-1990 - Senior Researcher, Head of the BelNII Tuberculosis Department,
- 1990–1996 - Director of the Mogilev branch of the Institute of Radiation Medicine,
- 1996–1999 - Director of the Institute of Environmental and Professional Pathology,
- 1999-2001 - Director of the Institute of Radiation Medicine and Endocrinology,
- 2001–2002 - Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
