Bonifacio del Carril ( Spanish: Bonifacio del Carril ; April 14, 1911 - December 23, 1994 ) - Argentinean writer , lawyer , historian , translator , statesman and diplomat. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina (April 30 - October 5, 1962). Doctor of Law. Member of the National Academy of Fine Arts (since 1965) and the National Academy of History of the Argentine Republic (since 1960).

Biography

He studied law at the University of Buenos Aires . He worked as a lawyer. There he received a doctorate in legal sciences (the topic of the dissertation was “National Unity and Argentine Federalism”).

In 1937-1943 taught American history, customary law and judicial practice at the Graduate School of Commerce. He worked at the Institute for Practical Education of the Faculty of Law of Buenos Aires (1943-1946).

He held a number of responsible posts. In 1944 he became Deputy Minister of the Interior. In 1962 - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Argentina .

In 1965 - Representative of Argentina to the United Nations . He participated in discussions about the conflict in the Falkland Islands .

Member of the National Academy of History of the Argentine Republic. Three times elected president (1971-1979) of the National Academy of Fine Arts.

For forty years he collaborated with the newspaper La Nación . The author of more than three hundred articles and more than sixty books and pamphlets about politics, history, art and Argentine icon painting.
