Principe Airport ( port. Aeroporto Príncipe ) is a small airport located on Principe Island in the Gulf of Guinea 3 km (1.9 miles) north of the city of Santo Antonio [1] .

Principe is the only airport on the island of Principe and one of the two airports of the state of Sao Tome and Principe . It was built in 1968, when the island was under the Portuguese protectorate [2] .
To the east of the airport is the settlement ( port. Aeroporto de Príncipe ), named after him.

Reconstruction
From 2012 to 2015, the Portuguese construction company modernized the airport, the main purpose of which was to increase the runway to accommodate medium-sized aircraft. The reconstruction cost was $ 18 million , which was invested by a South African company that built a five-star hotel for ecotourists on the island [2] .
