The ventricle ( lat. Ventriculus ) is a part of the heart , a person is divided into the right and left ventricles, receiving blood from the atria and pumping it into the arteries . They are separated from the left and right atria by mitral and tricuspid valves, respectively, and from the arteries by lunate. The walls of the ventricles are the thickest part of the heart muscle ( myocardium ), and with the growth of a person, the wall of the left ventricle thickens much more (2-3 times), which reflects the higher pressures it experiences, moreover, it has the shape of a cone [1] .
