Mänttä-Vilppula ( Fin. Mänttä-Vilppula ; Swedish. Mänttä-Filpula ) is a city and community in Finland . It was formed by uniting the communities of Mäntä and Wilppula on January 1, 2009. Located in Pirkanmaa area .

The population of the city as of August 31, 2017 is 10,330 people, and the area is 657.08 km², of which 122.61 km² is the water body.
Neighboring communities are Keuruu , Yuupayoki , Jämsä , Ruovesi and Virrat .
