Hilda Maria Karlen ( Swede. Hilda Maria Carlén , born , ) is a Swedish soccer player, goalkeeper of Linkoping Club and the Swedish women's team. Silver medalist at the 2016 Summer Olympics. The daughter of Swedish handball player Per Karlen .

Club career

She played for Hammenheg until 2009. Since 2009, the Malmo player has been reservist Caroline Jensson and Tours Björg Helgadottir . On loan, she spent the 2010 season as part of Linkoping, reservist goalkeeper Sofia Lundgren ; played for the club in one match of the UEFA Champions League 2010/2011 against the Slovenian club Krka [3] . In 2013, she played for Hammarby in the first team, in 2014 she represented Piteo and made her debut in the mast against Linkoping on April 13, 2014 (victory 1-0). Held 20 games of the season, nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Year Award ( Swedish Årets målvakt ).

Team Career

In 2009, Karlen was called up to the national team for the UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship, held in Belarus, and in 2010 for the World Championships for the U-20 Girls in Germany. She made her debut for the main team on February 12, 2015 with a match against Finland , the same month she was included in the application for the Algarve Cup. In May 2015, she was included in the composition for the World Cup in Canada [4] . As part of the Swedish national team, she won silver medals at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro [5] .

Personal life

Father - Per Carlen, a famous Swedish handball player and handball coach. Margaret 's mother and brother Oscar , also handball players, represented the Swedish national team at international competitions [6] .
