KaiOS is a Linux- based mobile operating system that “connects the power of smartphones with the availability of feature phones ”, designed for push-button mobile phones. [3] It is a fork of B2G (Boot to Gecko ), developed by the community of the free successor of the operating system Firefox OS , the development of which was discontinued by Mozilla in 2016. The operating system appeared in 2017 and was developed by KaiOS Technologies , a company based in San Diego , California , headed by Sebastian Codeville, and having offices in other countries. [7] [8]
In June 2018, it was reported that Google invested $ 22 million in this operating system. [9]
In April 2019, KaiOS Technologies launched an open-access advertising network, KaiAds, which made it possible to advertise in applications on KaiOS. [ten]

Features and Features
The main features of KaiOS are support for LTE , GPS , Wi-Fi , HTML5 applications, as well as greater energy efficiency on devices without a touch screen and lower memory consumption [11] [12] .

Partnerships
As of February 2018, KaiOS Technologies has partnership agreements with Airfind , Facebook , Google , Twitter , Bullitt , Doro, HMD Global , Micromax , NXP , Spreadtrum , Qualcomm , Jio , Sprint , AT & T , and T-Mobile . [39] [13]
November 13-15, 2018 at AfricaCom 2018 (Cape Town, South Africa), General Director of MTN Group, General Director of KaiOS Technologies Inc., Executive Vice President of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. and the executive vice president of UNISOC have announced a partnership to launch the world's first 3G smartphone in Africa, working on KaiOS. February 7, 2019 in Marseille (France) Avenir Telecom, the exclusive representative of Energizer , and KaiOS Technologies announced their partnership and the upcoming release of eight new phones under the KaiOS-based Energizer trademark [41]
February 25, 2019 in Barcelona (Spain), KaiOS Technologies and Ooredoo announced the release of a phone that will provide access to the mobile Internet in Qatar and will help expand digital integration in the region. [42]
On February 25, 2019, Orange, in collaboration with KaiOS Technologies and UNISOC, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona (Spain), announced the release of a Sanza phone with voice recognition at a price of $ 20. [43]
