History
The initiator of the construction of a new stone church in Trinity-Lykov was Nikolai Aleksandrovich Buturlin , the son of the former owner of the village Ekaterina Pavlovna Buturlina. In 1843, he filed a petition with Metropolitan Philaret (Drozdov) of Moscow [2] :
| My deceased parent <...> bequeathed to me in the village of Troitsky near Moscow for her commemoration, and her parents and her relatives from the Spiritual Authorities to ask permission to build a rifle church with two chapels and to accept a special priest with a custodian. Starting now this sacred duty, I have the honor to present with this plan the church that I intend to build in the name of the Assumption of the Mother of God, and the side chapels - one in the name of the Holy Great Martyr Catherine and the other in the name of St. Nicholas and the Miracle Worker, I ask for the construction of this Archpastoral yours blessings At the same time, I have the honor to report that for the maintenance of this church and the Priest with the clerk I contributed fifteen thousand rubles to the Guardianship Council of the Moscow Educational House on February 5, 1841, and 4285 rubles 71 and 3/7 kopecks for silver, which I received me a ticket And since the perfect completion of this temple follows in 1845 or 1846, this capital will rise to 18,000 rubles. |
The original drawings of the temple were not preserved, but it is known that the estimate for the construction of the temple was signed by Moscow architect Nikolai Ilyich Kozlovsky . The temple was built longer than originally thought. The northern aisle of the Great Martyr Catherine was consecrated in 1851, the southern limit of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was January 15, 1856. Sanctified the aisles of the temple in honor of the heavenly patrons of the Buturlins . It is known that at the time of compiling the inventory of property in 1858, the main Assumption throne was not yet consecrated [3] .
The architect N.I. Kozlovsky built the temple in the classical style , in the spirit of the rest of his work. The main volume is stretched from north to south. Instead of apse there was risalit , from the west - a porch . The decor of the temple was minimal. At first he was not plastered. The flat roof was crowned by a large chapter on a low platform. At the end of the 19th century, the local historian A. A. Yartsev mentioned that the church was " with a blue head, strewn with stars ." The cross was copper, gilded [4] .
In the temple there were three three-tier carved gilded iconostases . Openwork Royal doors led into three altars . According to the inventory of 1858, shrines from the old wooden church were transferred to the new stone church: the icons of the Assumption, Paraskeva Friday, the prophet Elijah. New icons were painted on canvas. The main icon of the church - the image of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary - was in a silver setting with gilded clothes and crowns and the signature " Blessed Virgin Mary, save us ." The floor of the temple was covered with flaky slabs. The room was heated by two tiled stoves [4] .
After the merchants of Karzinkina became the owners of the Trinity-Lykov, the temple ceased to be a gun and became a parish . In 1902, the church was re-consecrated after reconstruction, initiated by Yu. M. Karzinkina . Architect Semyon Fedorovich Kulagin rebuilt the temple in a pseudo-Russian style . The refectory was expanded, and a new tented bell tower was added . In the western part there is a sacristy and a staircase to the second tier. A separate spiral staircase led to the balcony of the choir, where new chapels were arranged on the sides - the Mother of God of Kazan and the Monk Seraphim of Sarov. On the facades of the main volume, the architect placed parapets with kokoshniks . The refectory and the bell tower were decorated with friezes , pants and kokoshniks [5] .
After the reconstruction, steam and water heating was made in the temple. The interior of the temple was re-finished. The iconostasis was re-gilded, the icons were restored by the artist Sofinov, new utensils were purchased. The floor was tiled with metlah tiles. A bell weighing about 600 pounds was made at the Finnish factory [6] .
In 1930, the temple was closed and adapted for the village club [7] . In 1943-1979, the rehearsal hall of the Suvorov Music College was located here, then the dining room of the Kurchatov Institute . In Soviet times, the dome and the head of the bell tower were dismantled, the lower part of the walls was tiled. In the 1980s, a fire broke out in the building [8] .
In October 1989, the church was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church , after which its restoration began. On March 31, 1990, he was again consecrated by a small priestly rank [9] . On October 30, 2011, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Cyril , ordained the great consecration of the temple [10] . Since 2013, the temple has been a courtyard of the Pokrovsky Stavropegial Convent at the Pokrovskaya Zastava [9] .
